Why our program could be right for you

As Program Director of the Montefiore Einstein Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Residency, I take great pride in the depth and diversity of training our residents receive. Our program is built across four affiliated campuses, offering exposure to a wide range of patient populations and clinical environments — from high-acuity inpatient care to longitudinal outpatient management.

We’ve designed the curriculum to provide a comprehensive, hands-on experience in every major area of ENT. Throughout your training, you'll develop not only surgical expertise and medical knowledge but also the core skills that define outstanding physicians: communication, professionalism, critical thinking, and the ability to navigate complex healthcare systems.

The 726-bed Moses Campus is located in the Norwood section of the Bronx and includes the 106-bed Children's Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) as well as the Greene Medical Arts Pavilion (MAP) building. CHAM is a state-of-the-art tertiary care center where all inpatient and outpatient pediatric otolaryngology disorders are seen and treated. U.S. News & World Report has consistently ranked CHAM as one of our nation’s best children’s hospitals. The Moses Campus is the region’s largest employer, and includes a 25-bed operating room, expansive medical and surgical intensive care units and one of the five busiest emergency rooms in the United States.

Along with its partners, HHC Hospital and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB), Jacobi and NCB  form the North Bronx Healthcare Network to provide care for nearly one million New Yorkers. Live and work close to the best of everything

The Bronx, New York City’s northernmost borough, is a culturally rich neighborhood placed at the intersection of Manhattan and its surrounding regions. Our postgraduate trainees typically live in hospital housing or off-site in nearby Riverdale, Lower Westchester or Manhattan, and have access to an unmatched diversity of experiences beyond the program itself.

In the Bronx, with its ample parks and gardens, you’ll learn first-hand why it’s known as “the City’s Greenest Borough.” The neighborhood offers plenty of local food, art, sports and culture, and is just a subway ride away from Manhattan’s famed theaters, museums and attractions.

As a resident of the Tri-State region, you’ll have unmatched access to the city’s cultural offerings, not to mention the bounty of outdoor excursions that are available just beyond. Day-trips and weekend excursions to the Hudson Valley, Catskills, Long Island or New Jersey provide ample opportunities for swimming, hiking, biking, skiing and other seasonal activities.
